The NEYEDC team
The charitable objectives of the Trust are fulfilled by its operating function - North and East Yorkshire Ecological Data Centre.

NEYEDC works across North and East Yorkshire compiling ecological data from sources including volunteer recorders, ecological consultants, national recording schemes and Statutory bodies. This information is made available to nature reserve managers, academics and natural historians.

NEYEDC supports volunteer recording groups and individuals by providing technical help with data management and offering training and help on using GIS and other tools. It also participates in public engagement events such as Bioblitzes and wildlife activity days.

YHEDT Publishing

Following its involvement in the production of The South Yorkshire Plant Atlas, the Trust founded YHEDT Publishing in 2017, to enable the printing and publishing of natural history books that are more difficult to publish through traditional means.

YHEDT Publishing is registered with Neilsen Title Editor, which provides an ISBN agency and a search and discovery service for booksellers and libraries, ensuring the widest reach for its publications.

The first book published by YHEDT Publishing was The Water Beetles of Yorkshire by Martin Hammond.
